1. Front Line Defenders: Multiple Exposure campaign


Frontline Defenders mult expFront Line Defenders has launched a monthly video magazine broadcast focusing on human rights defenders at risk across the world and the
 context of their work. Segments in the series will offer a behind-the-scenes peek at the difficulty of carrying out human rights work in different countries, information about trends and political developments that directly impact human rights and profiles of individual human rights defenders at risk.


Along with the video reports, the webpages for each video will offer additional links and information, so that viewers can probe even deeper into the issues and learn more about the human rights defenders. To mark International Human Rights Defenders Day on 9 December, watch the first episode, featuring human rights defenders from Russia, Tunisia and Burma/Myanmar. 2. NIWEP: Discussion on CEDAW, Belfast


NI Human Rights Festival logoNI Womens European Platform is organising a discussion to celebrate the global impact of the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The talk will focus on how the Convention can be used to advance equality for women in Northern Ireland: 'Celebrating CEDAW – Recognising and Advancing Women’s Human Rights'.


It is taking place from 7:15pm to  8:30pm at the EU Commission Offices, Dublin Road, Belfast. Tickets are free. This event is part of the 2013 Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival programme. For more information, please check the Festival website.
